Salt of the earth

Having cajoled a taxi driver the previous day to take us to Munich airport ,we are on our way at 8am to meet Claire and Eric. Following the father and daughter and daughter's CP reunion we jump into our rental vehicle-thank God I booked so far ahead, so the whole process only took 2 hours and they still didn't have the car I ordered-Europcar lift your game!
Then the road trip to Berchtesgaden to visit the salt mines. In true German fashion we are forced to put on ridiculous fancy dress in order to be humiliated

and then it is off for the magical mystery tour involving train rides
and giant slippery dips
Don't even ask
and boat trips across clear lakes.
We absorb so much salt that our blood pressure and demeanour have risen by 50%.

We take a little trip around Berchtesgaden

but don't have time to visit "his" house and then it is on to Salzburg.
Our accommodation is in the forest

and we are greeted by our host, Heiko, who lives downstairs. Heiko is creepy and wears leather trousers and his handshake is suspiciously moist! Heiko then spends the next 3 hours explaining how to use his house-for example, the correct way to use the stairs and how to arrange our pillows etc.
We then walk into town for the very traditional dinner.
