The Fellowship of the Rhine

Today we leave Munich but not before a hearty breakfast
and stocking up on some sangas for our arduous journey; the variety of quality comestibles available at Munich railway station is quite mind boggling.
Train for Oliver

I love a Leberkase roll

Arriving at Darmstadt station for our first transfer, we are greeted by the out of order sign at the lift-3 hernias and 2 herniated discs later we struggle onto a far more prosaic train; at Mainz its all change to the mythical platform 11-after numerous trips up and down elevators and escalators lugging our baggage(emotional and traditional) we make it to the train with 2 minutes to spare-on this leg of the trip we are surrounded by phlegmatic(ie full of phlegm) Germans who all seem to be escapees from a TB hospital.
We taxi to our new hotel and are met by the rest of our walking team-a more unsavoury bunch of delinquents would be hard to find.

We wander around Bingen

and then have the odd ale and then it is time for dinner at a local hostelerie.
