No Rhine or reason
Our host prepares a traditional breakfast of rotting horse carcass and sauerkraut
and we don our slightly damp clothes and hope for drier conditions.
The views are misty but spectacular. We run into a grizzled old farmer who complains that the Americans destroyed 40% buildings in the area-bloody Americans, always leaving work unfinished.
Anyway, the weather remains dry
and we visit the Lorelei, resist throwing ourselves onto the rocks and end up in our very comfortable accommodation. Beer, wine and food all very good.
