Just tell me when I am having fun-Oberheimbach to Kaub

Following a simple peasant breakfast of a roast oxen served with a thin crepe,
we ascend again

through vineyards and more views of the Rhine and more castles in various states of repair.

The weather is fair(that's good), the company is grim(that's expected),
the lunch in Bacharach is swell(that's even better) and then the heavens open(that's very bad)and we spend the 3 hours schlepping in wet and cold misery.

Eventually we cross the mighty Rhine by ferry
and reach our boarding house in a state of advanced sogginess. Initially we thought our room was the broom closet, but it turned out the broom closet was more capacious.
Dinner was fine but the beer was even better served by our rather devious host.
Sleep was uninterupted apart from the trains that ran through our bedrooms every 3 minutes!
